Obituary – Seeber, Ralph Louis, 2002

Ralph Louis Seeber, age 76, of 150 Old Frost Bottom Road, Oliver Springs, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2002, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

Mr. Seeber was born May 27, 1925, in Briceville.

He served his country in World War II as well as Korea. He held the rank of sergeant in the United States Army and was a member of the Fighting Big Red One. He was an avid fisherman and loved sports. Mr. Seeber was a member of Frost Bottom Missionary Baptist Church in Frost Bottom.

Mr. Seeber and his wife, Audrey, were married 54 years April 3, 2002.

Mr. Seeber is preceded in death by: Parents, Ed and Mattie Seeber; children, Ralph Seeber Jr., Esteleda Seeber, Audrey Seeber; granddaughter, Audrey Mullins; brothers, Cecil Seeber, Charles Ed Seeber; sister, Pearl Price; father and mother-in-law, Clarence and Annie Harness.

Mr. Seeber is survived by: Wife, Audrey Harness Seeber; sons, Clarence Ed Seeber of Oliver Springs, Michael Seeber of Oak Ridge, Dee Seeber of Clinton; adopted son, Leonard West and wife, Lois of New River; daughters, Sandra Kay Seeber of Oliver Springs, Patsy Hixon and husband Steve of Kingston, Rose Stipes and husband Jimmy of Strawberry Plains, Violet Jackson of Oliver Springs; daughter-in-law, Judith Seeber Argo of McMinnville; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Dennis Seeber and wife Thelma of Oliver Springs; sister, Florence Duncan of Oliver Springs; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Lois Bass of Oliver Springs, Dee and Mildred Harness of South Carolina; very special friends, Charlie and Ruby White of Oliver Springs; care giver and friend, Teresa Jenkins; special nieces and nephews of the Bass family and the Seeber family.

Pallbearers for Mr. Seeber’s service were Ron Smith, Ralph Poore, Billy Cooper, Jamey Lewis, Tony Hixon and Simmy Mullins. Honorary pallbearers were Terry Jones, Joshua Seeber and Johnny Beacham.

The family received friends 6-8:30 Thursday, April 4, 2002, at Oliver Springs Mortuary.

Funeral service was 2 pm Friday, April 5, 2002, at Mineral Springs Baptist Church in Oliver Springs with the Rev. Clyde Bass officiating.

Interment was Friday, April 5, 2002, at Frost Bottom Cemetery in Frost Bottom following the funeral service.

Oliver Springs Mortuary in charge of the arrangements.
