Obituary of Edith “Hutchie” Queener, 2001:

Edith “Hutchie” Queener, age 64, of Heiskell, passed away Sunday Jan. 21, 2001 at her residence.

She was born May 17, 1936 in Anderson County.

She was a member of Deep Springs Baptist Church. After she became ill she thoroughly enjoyed watching Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church television program and visits by the pastor of Mt. Pisgah, the Rev. Garvin Walls. She retired from Modine Manufacturing in Clinton where she had worked as a machine operator.

Preceded in death by: parents, Esco “Jake” and Elizabeth “Lizzie” Kerr Dew; brothers, Robert and Joe Dew; sister, Neomia “Tom” Dew.

Survivors: husband, Joe Mack Queener of Heiskell; son, Perry “Jay” Queener and wife Mary of Knoxville; daughters, Lyn Lucas and husband Darrell of Knoxville, Ann Nelson and husband Mark of Heiskell, Donna Patterson and husband Jeff of Heiskell; grandchildren, Nick Lucas, Amy Lucas, Jake Patterson, Josh Patterson, Jordon Patterson; sisters, Louise Wallace of Heiskell, Marilyn Portwood and husband Earl of Clinton; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Nellie Robbins of Clinton.

The family will receive friends 6-8:30 pm Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with funeral service following in the chapel with the Rev. Garvin Walls officiating.

Interment is 10:30 am Thursday, Jan. 25, 2001 at Sartin Cemetery.
