Obituary of Susie York Patterson, 1995:
Susie York Patterson, 88 of Clinton died Saturday in Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
The daughter of Lacey and Sarah Daugherty York, she was born April 1, 1907 in Anderson County. A former Devonia resident, she was a homemaker and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dorsey Patterson; sons, James Ray Patterson, Otis Patterson and Zenith Patterson; daughter, Allie Patterson; and parents.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Cleo and Marvin Adkins of Cleveland, OH; Clorene Daugherty of Clinton; Charlene Adkins of Dunkirk, IN; and Bobbie Jean and Bill Gibbs of Jacksonville, AR; son, Leland “Lee” and Deanna Patterson of Brooklyn, OH; grandchildren, Terry Daugherty, Cathy Daugherty, Billy Adkins, Keith Adkins, Teresa Yardley, Scott Patterson, Stacey Patterson and Danny Cox; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was Tuesday in Shiloh Baptist Church, Devonia, with the Rev. Edwin Phillips and the Rev. Richard Phillips officiating. Burial followed in Anderson Memorial Gardens.
Cox Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
