Obituary – Hardwick, Ollie, 1970

Clinton Courier-News, March 26, 1970, Section 1, Page 6:

Ollie Hardwick, former K-25 employee, dies.  A former coal miner and employee at the K-25 Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Oak Ridge, Ollie G. Hardwick, died Monday at 8:45 a.m. at Lake City Hospital.

Mr. Hardwick, 68, lived in the Clear Branch community at Lake City Rt. 1.  He had been sick since March 9.

Born in Somerset, Ky., he worked in the Agees coal camp in Harlan County for several years.  Moving to Lake City, he worked at Oak Ridge for 17 years until he was 60.

Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cox Funeral Home chapel in Lake City with the Rev. Virgil Shears and the Rev. Charles Noss officiating.  Burial was in Beech Grove Cemetery.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Elva Retta Baird Hardwick; two sons, Ollie G. Jr. of LaFollette and Arville G. of Caryville; and six grandchildren.
