Obituary of Marion H. Heck, 1967:

M. H. Heck rites held on Tuesday.  Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at Pleasant View Baptist Church for Marion H. Heck, 56, Clinton Rt. 2, who died at St. Mary’s Hospital in Knoxville Saturday of emphysema.

Mr. Heck had been a construction and steel mill worker before he became ill, members of the family said.  He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and native Hawkins Countian.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lavada Anderson Heck; two sons, Everett of Dalles, Ga., and Claude of Chicago; two daughters, Mrs. Stella Arthur of Cincinnati and Mrs. Audrey West of Jefferson City; father, Ed Heck of Rogersville; 11 grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Georgia Tunnell, Mrs. Marie Carter, Mrs. Sylvia Carter, Mrs. Angeline Southland and Mrs. Edna Radar; three brothers, Andy, D. C., and Lamerance.

The Rev. Richard Phillips officiated at the services and burial was in Providence Cemetery near Rogersville.
