Obituary of Lottie Lorene Parson, 1996:

Lottie Lorene Parson, 78, of Oliver Springs died Sunday, May 12, 1996 in Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

Mrs. Parson was a native of Alabama, having lived in Anderson County since 1954.

She was a member of Coopers, AL, First Baptist Church. She worked in West-Mal Nursing Home until its closing and retired from Robertsville Junior High School in 1983.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Thorton and Agnes Thorton; two sisters, Lois Hewitt and Barbara Tatum; and by her husband, Alvie E. Parson.

Survivors are sons and daughters-in-law, Boyd F. and Betty Parson of Dale City, VA; Paul W. and Brenda Parson of Oliver Springs; brother, Winston Thorton of Clanton, AL; sisters, Wilma Logan of Plant City, FL; Pat Roussell of Great Falls, MT; Marie Johnson of Newman, GA; Beatrice Cagle and Ruby Bates, both of Coopers, AL; grandsons, Paul Parson II of Oliver Springs, Adam Parson of Oliver Springs and John D. Parson of Dale City, VA; granddaughters, Debra Clark, Angela Parson and Teresa Harvey, all of Dale City, VA.

Family received friends 6-8:30 pm Tuesday, May 12, in Sharp Funeral Home, Oliver Springs.

Funeral service were 8:30 pm Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Steve McDonald officiating.

Graveside services and burial was held noon Wednesday, May 15, in Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Sharp Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
