Obituary of Eva Smith, 1970:

Mrs. Eva Smith, Dutch Valley, dies Sunday.  The mother of several Clinton residents, Mrs. Eva Smith, 84, died Sunday night at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Lucy McMahan, at Clinton Rt. 3.

Mrs. Smith, wife of the late James Smith, was a member of the First Dutch Valley Baptist Church.

Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Poplar Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Nolan and the Rev. Dewey Bonner officiating.  Burial was in the church cemetery.

She leaves three daughters, Mrs. Lucy McMahan, Mrs. Lillie Griggs and Mrs. Louise Chambers, all of Clinton; four sons, Charlie, Robert, Elmer and Odis, all of Clinton; a sister, Mrs. Lucy Hamblen of California; a brother, Charlie Stittums of LaFollette; 33 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
