Obituary of Ernest Childs, 1981:
Childs, Ernest – age 52, of Lake City, Rt. 2, passed away suddenly, Saturday evening at his home. He was a Veteran of the Korean War and Member of the Fraterville Baptist Church. Survivors, step-daughter, Mrs. Troy (Linda) West; sisters, Mrs. Juanita Parks, Mrs. Marie Armstrong, all of Lake City; brothers, Elmer Childs of Burnside, Ky., Clarence Childs of Briceville, Tn., Herbert of Detroit, Mich., George of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Funeral service Monday at 9 p.m. at the Cox Chapel, Rev. Bill E. Lamb officiating. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Tuesday morning. Cox of Lake City in charge.
