Obituary of Charles “Scotty” Dabney, 2006:

Charles “Scotty” Dabney, 35, Clinton, died suddenly of respiratory failure on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2006, at Methodist Medical Center.

He was born June 3, 1970, in Anderson County.

He was a dedicated employee of the Anderson County Courthouse as a custodian on the first floor.

Preceded in death by: Mother, Anna Faye Wilson; grandparents, Ralph and Rita Dougherty and Charles and Rosalee Dabney; cousin, Ralph Jackson.

Survivors: Brothers, Tim and wife Lisa Sawyer of Clinton, Chris and Gail Dabney of Knoxville, Barry Dabney of Clinton; Father, Richard Dabney & wife Anne of Austell, GA; Nieces, Missy Chandler & husband Chris, Mindy Sawyer of Clinton, Amanda Dabney of Knoxville; Nephews, Timmy Sawyer of Clinton, Richey Dabney of Lake City; Uncle, Mitch Dougherty of Lake City; Aunts, Joy Dabney of Powell, Gaye Carden of Clinton. Scotty also leaves behind a host of other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with funeral services following in the chapel with Rev. Wayne Phillips and Rev. Darrell Griffis officiating.

His burial will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday at Norris Memorial Garden.

Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements.
