Obituary of Alma Juanita Amos, 1998:
Alma Juanita Amos, age 81, of Lake City passed away Monday, Jan. 12, 1998, in Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge.
Mrs. Amos was a member of Longfield Baptist Church in Lake City. She was born in Anderson County on July 17, 1916. She loved gardening and fishing.
She was preceded in death by husband, Leon Amos, and daughter, Marjorie Rutherford.
Survivors: sons, Arnold Leon Amos of Chula Vista, CA, Jerry Amos of Lake City, Billy Amos of Lake City, and Darryl Amos of Lake City; daughters, JoAnn Stevens of Harriman and Lorene Day of Dayton, OH; brothers, Lonnie Towe of Atlanta and Audry Towe of Harrisburg, PA; sisters, Jean Burnside of Dayton, OH, and Edna Kyle of Oak Ridge; a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation is 6-8 pm Thursday, Jan. 15, in Cox-Martin Funeral Home.
Funeral service is 8 pm Thursday, Jan. 15, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. George DeLozier officiating.
Interment is 11 am Friday, Jan. 16, Beech Grove Cemetery, Lake City.
