Obituary of Kyle Elbert Amerine, 1995:

Kyle Elbert Amerine, 68 of Clinton, died Tuesday in Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

Mr. Amerine was owner/operator of Amerine Exxon in Clinton for 17 years. For the past 10 years, he worked in the parts department of Fox Oldsmobile, Oak Ridge. He was a member of Clinton Second Baptist Church and a World War II Navy veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer G. and Lela Stokes Amerine; son, Kyle Amerine Jr., and brothers, Lonas S. and Rowan L. Amerine.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Foust Amerine of Clinton; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Raymond Jones of Claxton; grandchildren, Michael R. Jones of Clinton and Lisa R. Meade of Knoxville; step granddaughter, Amber Stocks of Clinton; sisters, Verona Ellis of Lakeland, FL, Mildred Harris of Alachua, FL, and Lela Tinney of Chattanooga; and a brother, H.G. Amerine of Clinton.

Funeral service will be 8:30 pm Wednesday in Holley-Gamble Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Gary Swaggerty and the Rev. George Williams officiating.

Graveside service will be 11 am Thursday in Pleasant View Cemetery with full military honors conducted by Volunteer State Honor Guard.

Family will receive friends 7-8:30 pm Wednesday.
