Obituary of Maggie Smith Allred, 1999:
Maggie Smith Allred, age 95, of Heiskell passed away Friday, July 16, 1999, at the home of her grandson, Jerry Allred.
Mrs. Allred was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. She was a long-time employee of the Andersonville Boat Dock.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Allred, in 1922; sons, Clarence and Hobert Allred; and parents, William and Eliza Humphrey Smith.
Mrs. Allred was born Jan. 15, 1904, in Union County.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Reba Allred of Heiskell; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Sunday, July 18, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton, with the funeral service following at 8 pm in the chapel.
Interment will be 10:30 am Monday, July 19, in Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery, Andersonville.
