Obituary of R. N. Allen, 1971:
Clinton residents’ father is dead. R. N. Allen, 75, of Sparta died Tuesday night of an apparent heart attack. He was the father of two Clinton residents, Mrs. Frances Scarboro of 603 Crestwood Drive and Joe Allen of 6161 Crestwood.
Allen was a retired grocery chain owner and farmer.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday (today) at Hunters Funeral Home in Sparta.
He leaves two other daughters, Mrs. R. H. Sadler of Murfreesboro, formerly of Clinton, and Mrs. Tom Miller of Nashville, and a second son, Bryan Allen of Murfreesboro.
