Obituary of Nancy Mahelia Phillips Allen, 1992:
Nancy Mahelia Phillips Allen, 76, of Phillips Lane, Clinton, died Friday at her home.
A native of Indian Fork, she was the daughter of the late Inman Arthur Phillips.
Mrs. Allen, a homemaker, had worked in Oak Ridge several years ago.
She was of the Baptist faith.
A son said that her favorite pastime was being with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Clayton Ainscough of Taylor, MI; daughters, Nancy E. Allen, Patricia S. Allen, Linda G. Lowery, Janet Patterson and Betty Brittle, all of Clinton; mother, Creasie Phillips of Clinton; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Ray Phillips, Charles Phillips and Lee Phillips of Clinton; Conway Phillips of Dayton OH; sisters, Evelyn Thompson of Clinton and Inzia Provenzia of Knoxville.
Services will be 2 pm Sunday at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Hoye Bunch officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-9 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
