Obituary of Rev. Earl R. Adkins, 1992:
The Rev. Earl R. Adkins, 74, of Daytona, Fla., formerly of Huntsville, died May 17 at Humana Hospital in Daytona. His wife, Eloise Ensley Adkins, lives in Lake City.
He was a member and former pastor of the Stanfield Baptist Church in Elk Valley and a former pastor of several other area churches.
Mr. Adkins was a self-employed automobile dealer and a veteran of WWII.
Survivors also include a daughter, Betty Sue Vossler of Cincinnati, Ohio; a son, Robert Adkins of Daytona Beach, Fla; three sisters, Dorothy Barrett of Texas; Evelyn Prince of Corinth, Ky., and Monie Duncan of Huntsville; a brother, Orden Adkins of Orlando, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
Services were held May 20 at Main Street Baptist Church in Lake City with the Rev. Don Martin officiating. Burial was in Adkins Cemetery in Pioneer. Martin Funeral Home in Lake City was in charge of arrangements.
