William B. Anderson, son of James Anderson and Elizabeth (Smoot?), was
born in Warren Co. TN.
He served as a Private in Co. G, 35th
Tennessee Infantry Regiment, CSA.
He married Nancy Hammer, daughter of Asahel Rains Hammer and his wife
Elizabeth Ann Swope. William and Nancy had 7 children. William died in
1873, the same year his last child was born.
William is buried in French Cemetery in Warren Co. TN.
Nancy later remarried, to Jesse Hulett, on 12 Nov 1882, in Warren Co
TN. Photocopies of the Bible family pages were supplied by Velma Chipley of Athens Texas, however no title page of the Bible was supplied. There are two styles of handwriting of the entries. The earliest entries are of better quality. |

The quilt near the top of this page was made by Olive Ollie
Melton, wife of Daniel Smoot Anderson.
She made the quilt in our Warren County. They brought the quilt to Texas
in their covered wagon.
Daniel S. Anderson is a brother to William Anderson, original owner of
the above Bible. Daniels g-g-granddaughter,
Ann Melugin Williams, supplied her photograph of her Anderson family
quilt.
