My great-great grandmother was Mary Jane Kelly who was born in RheaCounty, TN April 27, 1839. She was the daughter of James J. andElizabeth Fout Kelly. On September 2, 1865 Mary Jane (who may havebeen called Jane) gave birth to an illegitimate daughter, SarahPenelope. Again, in about 1868, she had an illegitimate son, John. OnOctober 31, 1872, Mary Jane married Daniel Jones in Hamilton County,TN. Sarah and John then took the Jones surname which they usedthereafter. Mary Jane had two more children with Jones then when hedied, she married Madison Varner of Soddy TN.I have been told that the name of the first two childrens' father wasJohnson and was given to understand that he was from the Dayton, RheaCounty area. I have also been told by my granny that the unknownJohnson was from a fine family and was a fine man but, for someunnamed reason, could not marry Mary Jane. Looking for information on Charles Elden Hamilton. I have no datesfor him. He had a daughter Elizabeth born April 1873 died May 1939.Elizabeth was born in Evansville. Charles and family (i guess) werelater in Cocke Co. as he was instrumental in building the grammarschool that is still in use today.

Joseph Marr came to Rhea Co with 4-6 children from Kershaw Co. SC abt1811 and witnessed a deed on 25 July 1813. One of his children,Benjamin married a Frances (lastname unknown)probably in Rhea Co.about 1812, I would to find her last name and confirm the names oftheir first children who were probably born in Rhea Co also.

Samuel TUCKER was in Rhea co. Tn. 1830 census. There was a SamTucker in Roan Co. Tn. in very early 1800s, he had a tavern there hewas gone by 1820. In 1813, Roan Co.Tn. Wm. MOORE m. Unity TUCKER, In1814 Geo. D. TUCKER was in Roan Co. paying 1 w. poll, no land. 1816Sam TUCKER had 500 acres on main road. Jul. 1816 Jane MOORE m. JohnTUCKER. In 1818 Hugh A. MOORE charged with being father of PollyTUCKERS child, he admitted and promised to support child. Whatbecame of Samuel TUCKER? Was there a will or obit? Any helplocating this TUCKER line would be appreciated.
