Who can help me get in contact with this person? My questions are
the following:
I am a descendant of Dempsey and Obedience through their son John,
who
married Rachel RIDER, and their daughter Emaline, who married my
ggrandfather Isaac K. BURKHART/BURKETT. What data do you have on
Dempsey
and Obedience? Who was indentured to whom? Do you have a document?
Who married whom in Tyner Station? I have no record of Dempsey and
Obedience's marriage. Their first child was born 1780 in Edgefield

Allen and Gilbert LUPER/LOOPER and Silas IVEY were in
Rhea Co
from about 1827
to about 1837/38. Gilbert Luper named a son Gilbert COX LUPER. Allen
Luper named a son Isham LUPER. I note that IshaM COX and Duncan COX also
appear in some of the Luper land entry records. In Robeson Co, NC,
where Allen married Silas Ivey's daughter, I copied the land records
index for all Iveys and noticed that there was a Gilbert Cox listed
as a buy or Ivey land. Would like to know if any Coxes from Rhea Co
have connections to Robeson Co, and to the Lupers and Iveys. It seems
like more than a coincidence to find the name Gilbert used as a first
name in both families and the names Gilbert Cox as given names in the Luper
family.

The Land Entry book lists a survey for Allen
LOOPER/LUPER in
1827. This was on Bason Creek, a
tributary of Whites Creek near Benjamin C Gibson's survey. Chain Carriers
were
Ralph Locke and
Pleasant R Gibson. Later entries place this on Walden's Ridge.
Allen's father-in-law, Silas IVEY, also had land on Walden's Ridge, and
Gilbert
Luper appears as a Chain Carrier in several entries. By 1838 it appears
that Allen and Gilbert had left Rhea Co, may have stopped off in
Bedford for a while, but were in Washington Co AR by 1840. Would like
to know if anyone has seen a cemetery record for Silas Ivey, or any
Luper. Also, what part of the county was Walden's Ridge located in?
