Perry County, Tennessee

Cemeteries

We are blessed to have volunteers who have spent many countless hours recording and transcribing the cemeteries in Perry County.  We have 2 sites that you can look at.

  • The first one is the one that has all the cemeteries listed.  (for those of you who are regular visitors to this site, this is the one that you are familiar with).  When you click on the cemetery, you are taken to a transcription.  The problem with this format is that there is no way to search for a name, if you are unsure of where a person is buried.

  • The second one is a brand new site.   This is part of the Tennessee Records Repository Project to build a database of cemetery transcriptions across the state.  We will be loading existing cemetery surveys, as well as new ones, to the Perry County site.   The advantage of this site is that you will be able to search across all cemeteries in a given county or across the state.  The other advantage of this format of database is that we will be able to attach a tombstone picture to the listing.

  • This site will be under construction until the last of the cemeteries is moved to this new site.
