John D. Slayden, Clarksville, TN, b 6-6-1843 in Dickson County, TN; enlisted 1861 as private in Co. C 11th Tennessee; wounded in Marietta GA; captured December 1864 at Franklin and escaped; paroled 4-18-1865 as 1st. Sergeant; occupation Doctor; d 3-9-1922; buried in Greenwood Cemetery.
