SOLDIER IN INDEPENDENCE OF TEXAS WAR
From Tennessee Watchman; Feb. 1836 - Private Joseph Bayliss, age 28, born and
raised in Montgomery County, Tennessee, died in defense of the Alamo in Texas.
He was a member of Col. Davy Crockett's Band.

Editors Note: Donna Rodriguez sends this message- I am sure that the transcription is incorrect. The men at the Alamo definitely died 6 March 1836.
