FRANK SUNMERFIELD BEAUMONT

1. We talk about Frank Beaumont today because of his famous father, HENRY FRANCISCO BEAUMONT, who, born in England, came to VA, then C’ville to est. the FIRST tobacco stemmery in 1829.
2. Beaumont was the first to ship a hogshead of tobacco by way of the Cumberland to N. Orleans.
3. Beaumont is “father of Methodistism in C’ville”.
