provided land grants in Tennessee for service in the Revultionary War.
Maybe Richard Henderson sold land. My James Carson acquired land in about
1783 in what is now Claiborne County. I believe he either settle in Powell
Valley or along the Powell River. I am looking for his land record.

Sue Houchin Sun Jun 1 12:39:04 1997 Am searching for any informtion about George Bales father of William Bales. George was born in Cliborne, TN and is my ggggrandfather. William married Lucy ? Jennet Morrison Mon Jun 2 11:35:22 1997 I would like to hear from anyone else researching the MORRISON line. My ggrandmother Rachel was born there ca 1909; her father was George Thomas Morrison (also spelled Morison, Marison, Marrison). His father (my ggggrandfather) was Richard Morrison, who served in Tenn Inf Co. H8 (Confederate) during the Civil War. According to the information I have thus far, he may have been born in Virginia. My ggrandmother had several siblings, many of whom have children/grandchildren/ggrandchildren spread out across the county, so I'm optimistically hoping to hear from someone with a similar interest. Also, I would like to hear from anyone researching the WILDER, MARTIN, or LONG families from the tri-state (VA/TN/KY) area. Some of my interests in this area include Dora Martin, mother of Lizzie (Lillie) Martin (b. 1903 Virginia) -- Dora had two brothers, Milton and another; and James Long, who served in the Confederate army and was born ca. 1840, probably in Virginia. I'm also interested in information on the WILDER family, including the family of John Wilder, who had one brother (George) and one sister -- all born around the first decade of this century, or scarcely before. (I don't have all my info and dates handy at the moment.) If you fit any of these descriptions, please e-mail me at Jennet 23@aol.com. Thank you!
