I am researching my great-grandparents and g-g-grandparents.
It appears they originally may have come from Cherokee County, NC in the
1800s when that County covered Polk Co., parts of Bradley, parts of GA, and
other parts of NC. They then moved to eastern Tennessee. My g-grandparents
lived in Franklin Co. I bleive but my grandparents always lived in Bradley
Co., TN. My grandfather is George Thomas Fisher (still living) b. 20 Aug
1911. He married my grandmother, Rosa Lee (Cloer) Fisher, b. 11 Aug 1911,
now deceased. My grandfather's parents were Leander Milton Fisher b. 10 Jan
1883, who married Lillie Ann (or Lillian) Mashburn, b. 20 Feb 1883. Their
children were George Thomas Fisher* (Living), Veta Jane, Ida Mae, Martha Jane,
Addie, Carl Otis (11 Nov 1916 - Jul 1997), and Quince Milton (Living). If
you have any information or are related, please let me know.

I am looking for information regarding my great-grandparents.
I never knew my great-grandfather, George Washington Hunt, but I did know
my great-Grandmother, Texaner Callahan (sp? w/ one l or ll). She was 92
when she died in Charleston, Tennessee in 1982. She was also in the newspaper
on her 90th birthday. I was always told she was full-blooded Cherokee but
have been unable to find any information on her or my g-grandfather. If you
know of anything or are related please let me know.

William P. BRYANT, born 1826 in GA married Icie
Ann MCCARTY, daughter of William and Amilda Looney MCCARTY in 1850 in Bradley
Co. and lived in Charleston until his death in 1906. His second wife was

Searching for information on William SCHENCK
(1840 - 19--) who resided in Cleveland, TN from about 1890 until his death.
Came from York, PA via Springfield, OH. William is known to have helped
build the Broad Street Methodist Church, a home for the Hardwick family (photo
in my possession), and reportedly a home for the Filhauer family. I am interested
in photos of any homes he may have worked on. Also would be interested in
known church affiliation or other details. William's son, Charles Herbert,
and daughter Ella May (Robinson) were graduates of Cleveland High School
in 1896 and 1898 respectively.

Would like information on Evelen F. MASEY who
is listed as head of household in the 1850 Bradley Co, TN census. With her
are children Jane age 8, Virginia age 6 and James A age 2/12. I understand
that Evelen died before 1860. Does anyone know what happened to these children?

Seeking information about Peter J. DEAN/DEANE,
who married Sarah C. STARNES in Meigs County, TN on December 24, 1843. By
the time of the 1850 census, this couple had moved to Bradley County, TN

Researching the Allison, O'Kelley, Whitaker surnames
that came from Buncombe Co. N.C. ca 1842. this was documented by a diary
that James Bird Allison left for his children before removing to Ft. Scott,
Kansas during the Civil War to get away from the skirmish of the war. James
Bird Allison and his wife Eliza Ann O'Kelley died the day before arriving
of dehydration.

I am looking for information on Nannie A. Cooper.
Cooper was the her married name of her first husband. She married my g g
grandfather Ephraim Turner Beatty, on April 17, 1889, in Knox Co, TN. I do
not have a birth date on her, she died in 1921 in Monett, Barry Co., Missouri.
I noted in the family bible that she came from the Cleveland, TN area. Any

I am looking for info on the John B. WOODS' (b
abt 1820) family. His oldest dau was Amanda Adeline Woods born in Bradley
Co. 6-08-1842. She is my gg grandmother. I know the family moved w/i a couple
of years after her birth. I show sibblings born in MO & Ill. The remaining
children were born in Madison Co., Ark. The family shows up in the Ark 1850
census. I have not been able to find any records re John or family in TN,

He was well known in Bradley Co. Tn. He built one or two Hotels in Cleveland,
Tn. His name has been left out of the history book of Bradley Co. Would
like to know why and what he did to be left out of the new book. He was
in the old history books. He left Bradley Co. Tn and went to live in Dalton,
Ga for the remainder of his life. Was he run out of town?????

Searching for information on Abraham Powell,
born @1850 in Gilmer Co., GA, was in Rhea Co., TN by 1880 but family lore
has it that son John David worked in a "stove" factory in Cleveland as early
as 8 or 9 years of age. This would have put the family in or around Cleveland
during 1890's. Since there is no federal census, I'm hoping someone can
check state census for this ancestor. Abraham may be listed A.W. and wife
is Harriet Margaret. Also, is there any record of a "stove" factory in existance
in this area at turn of century? Would like to come to Bradley Co. and do
research, but have no idea where to start. Can anyone help?

Richard Bark FOREMAN (ca 1798-ca 1843), son of John FOREMAN (1750-1817)
and Susie GOURD (?-ca 1800). Susie was a full-blood Cherokee of the Paint
Clan. Richard Bark FOREMAN married March 29, 1821, McMinn County, Tennessee

Researching information on my grandparents, Samuel
Edwin DUNCAN and wife Margaret Alice (Louvenia) PARRISH. DUNCAN was born
11/22/1881 in Bradley County, son of Samuel W. DUNCAN, born in Johnstown,
Pa. and his wife, Mary E. HODGES, born in Rome, Ga. Lineage of Margaret not
yet determined but they were known to have adopted a child,from the Vine
Street Orphanage in Chattanooga,(renamed Mary Elizabeth) in 1911. The adoption

My paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Johnson's,
mother, Elizabeth Catherine Collins, was married 4/20/1881 to a George A.
Felker who is buried (d. 9/20/1894) in Ringgold, Catoosa Cty, GA. They had
four or five children: Fannie (Apr 1886, NC), Agusta Catherine (Sept 1889,
TN), Lottie S. (Mar. 1891, TN), and Jesse. Before 1899, Elizabeth married
James G. Johnson of Apison, James County, and had one daughter, my grandmother.
Elizabeth died on 8/15/1901, and is buried as "wife of Georgia Felker" in
the Old Stone Church Cemetery, in Ringgold. George owned a store now known
as the Dr. Blair place in the heart of Apison between late 1880's and the
early 1890's. Georgia's parents were Jesse and Eliza Felker. I believe Jesse's
parents may have been Peter (born SC) and Nancy Felker. The enrollment rolls
of Centenary College Conservatory, Cleveland, TN listed Fannie, Gussie and
Lottie as students of this female academy during the earlier 1900's. I am
looking for the descendants of my grandmother's half-sisters.

Jonathan COPELAND married Fannie WOODRUFF in
about 1845. They had 4 sons and 1 daughter. The youngest son John was born
in 1859; at his birth Fannie died and the baby was taken and raised by Fannies
sister. Jonathan was killed in Civil War. Need info on family of Fannie
WOODRUFF; and of the sister who raised the baby whose name was John Henry
Copeland.

WILLIAM RYNES m NANCY HARRIS prior to 1840, in
Bradley TN Believe Nancy was the dau of SIMEON HARRIS. One of WILLIAM's and
NANCY's sons was named Simeon. Are there any descendants of the RYNES and

Evening Folks, I am trying to get past my brick
wall. Jesse Cleveland. I have him in the 1850 census in Franklin County Ill
(born in Tenn) but no further back. His obit says he was born "near Knoxville".
In a 1840 Tennessee census index I found an entry for Cleveland, Jesse BRAD
055 NO TWP which I think means Bradley County page 55. I was wondering if
some kindly person out there might have that entry and would send it to me.

I am searching for Michael Little born in Tenn.
either 1824 or 1827 (different on two census forms). He moved to Scott County,

Isiah Woodall came to Bradley Co, Tn. from Pendleton
Dist, S.C. with his older brothers and sisters, being John, Joseph, David,
Elizabeth, Averilla....their Father was John Woodall, the only son according
to a Will of Joseph Woodall, Pendleton Dist , SC 1812. John Woodall the
father, and wife "Mary" Cherokee is all that's known of her. The Woodall
Bros. John and Joseph were on the first tax lists of Bradley Co, Tn. in
1836. John, Joseph and David all died unmarried. Isiah Woodall Marriage Sarah
Bigham , known children number 14-19 depending on census. Lived also in McMinn
Co., and Polk Co., Tn....then in Hamilton Co., Tn...then to Walker Co., Ga.
and back to Hamilton Co., Tn.....guess I'm the only one...ever to be related
to these Woodall's...wish someone knew a connections. Thanks.....

John MOON b.1805 TN and Perlina HACKETT MOON b. 1809 TN. Their children were
James Hackett b. 13 Jan 1837 in Seveir County, TN, Jasper b. 1832 TN, Martin
b. 1835 TN, Mary b. 1837 m. George A. PEOPLES, William b. 1839 TN. Daniel
Walker (my issue) b. 10 Aug 1841 in Bradley, TN, Noah b. 1844 Bradley, TN,
Martha Jane b. 1848 Morgan County MO, MacCampbell b. 1851 MO, and Robert Harvey
b. 1853 MO. There may have been an older daughter Emily b. 1829 TN who married
William Harvey PEOPLES in 1846 TN. John MOON'S parents were Jasper and Katheryn
MOON. He had at least two brothers that came to Missouri named Job and Robert
MOON. I can provide information about these after they settled in MO. I would

Looking for any information on R.D. JENKINS b.
1926 in or around Cleveland, TN. Family were farmers. R.D. served in the
Navy in the 40's and was a male nurse or orderly in the 50's. He married

Found someone who COULD be my ggg grandfather.
He would be the right age, and other factors enter in. Does anyone have information
about William CATE b. 3-31-1814 in Jefferson Co, TN? He d. 2-2-1892 Bradley
Co, TN; m. Ann GLAZE 1835. The only child listed is William Lawrence CATE
b. Jan 1846/d. Jun 1862. Could William and Ann also be parents of Tom and
Charles Claiborn CATE (both came to n.e. TX 1859)? I don't know Tom's bd
unk. Charles Claiborn CATE b. McMinn Co, TN prob 1840. Did William CATE who
m. Ann GLAZE have a water-powered grist mill prob. either in McMinn, Jefferson,
or Bradley Co, TN? My ggg grandfather CATE did, according to my grandmother.

Seeking information on the FOSTER family, brothers
Frederick and Jarrott from Union SC, and their famillies. They appear in
the 1840 Bradley Co. census along with Frederick's eldest son Jeremiah.
Jarrott's son, Andrew J. (my ggrandfather) was born in McMinn Co. according
to some records Feb. 15, 1842. By 1850 these famillies had gone on to Jasper
and Lawrence counties MO. Any information or tips on how to proceed rom here
are most welcome.
