Searching for decendents and information of McCager "Dock" RECORD d, B: 12/31/1859 (some think 1857). Looking for information on his children: James Grover McCager Record B:5/10/1885 and D: around 1950 in the Los Angeles or Torrance Calif area; William Hugh Tom Record B: 1/26/1881 and died around Shelby County TN 10/1969; Dennie Wendall Finemore Record B: 10/28/1891 and D: 1966 around the Atlanta GA area. Also looking for any children who might still be living who might have information on them. Also need to confirm which John RECORD was McCager "Dock" RECORD father and which Mary RECORD was his mother that are listed in the 1860 and 1870 TN census. At this time, I am unable to ascertain which are the correct parents of my GGrandfather. There are various RECORD families in TN most coming from Bedford, Coffee, Maury and Marshall counties in the early 1800's. Need to tie them together.

MCMAHAN

MCMAHAN- have found my grgr-grandfather joel mcmahan with all his children in the 1850 census, plus land deeds with brother james. I found James selling land for his father william mcmahan deceased,james was the exec. of the will. found were it states james living at home with their mother on the same land. (year 1826) in bedford co. tenn. cannot find out what the mother's name . found a alazs mcmahan on the 1830 census. cannot find anything else. found were Joel moved from bedford to coffee co. ten. (Manchester) cannot find were any are buried. James B. Henley married Susan B.....? on Nov. 6, 1875 in Bedford Co. TN. Susan's maiden name is illegible on a copy of her marriage record. The county clerk also says that the maiden name is illegible on the original record. However, it appears that the name could be Byrne, Byrd or Boyce. Could anyone help me out with this name? I am looking for information about Joseph Case PATTERSON's father and mother. JOSEPH CASE PATTERSON {My Great, Great Grandfather} was born in Bedford County Tennessee on August 2,1836-1838. The PATTERSON family moved to Bedford County from Mcary County sometime before 1838. Joseph had an older brother named John Patterson that was born in McNary County in 1833. He also had I think two younger brothers that were named Mart and Wilson Patterson. Joseph Case Paterson was married before the Civil War to Mary Waites.He served the South in the war. In January of 1867, Joseph Case Patterson and his wife and their children John Wesley, Alford A., and Sarah Jane Patterson moved to Texas. On routr to Texas His wife Mary Waites died. Once in Texas he settled in Coryell County. He remarried twice. His 2nd wife Lucy Jackson Whitaker and their children were Delia Georgian, Tennessee Belle, and Quince E. Patterson. I am looking for information on James J. FARRAR. He was in Granville county, NC in 1830 census with a wife and one daughter. In 1840 census, they were in Beford county, Tennessee. Theirs ages at this time were, James was 52 and the wife was about 40, the daughter was between 15 and 20, He was a brother to John H. and Jordan C. FARRAR, who lived in Bedford county . In the next census, 1850 he was in Lamar county, Tx with his wife named Lucy, his occupation was a school teacher, no daughter at home. In 1860 cesus in Lamar county, Tx he is living in the home of Jacob Long, the county clerk of Lamar county. James J. listed his occupation as a scivener in the county clerk office. no data on his wife. In 1863 James J. was elected county treasurer and held that office thru 1867. In 1870 Lamar county census, at the age of 80, he lived with the T.W. Gordon family. The last record of James J. in Lamar county, Tx was in 1873 , he was listed as a pauper. N.E. Griffith was receiving payment for his welfare.

Viney's brother , John, was also property of Jason BRITTAIN. I want to know who Viney's parents were. Any wills or family papers indicating? Viney married in Shelbyville, with license in 1867 to Robert CUNNINGHAM a civil war vet from Bowling Green,Ky. in a house belonging to Mr. YANCEY. Cinda FAY, Rachel FRANKLIN, Leticia GILDON, were present at ceremony. Baptist preacher ANDERSON married them. Lizzie and Minos CANNON (col) were their friends. Info on descendents from these families also needed as I have depositions to share regarding each of their slave histories.

Would like to correspond with anybody interested in the lives of those brave young men from Noah's Fork who eventually enlisted in Company A, 44th Tennessee Infantry Regiment, CSA (Before Reorg at Shiloh). Seeking assistance on the PHILLIPS, BROWN and WOOD families of Bedford County, TN. Jessee Phillips and his son Joseph G. Phillips lived in or around Shelbyville, TN. Joseph G. Phillips married Martha Jane Brown, daughter of William B. Brown, a banker in the Shelbyville area. William B. Brown was married to Charlotte A. Wood, daughter of John and Elizabeth Wood. All were supposedly from Bedford County. Many are buried at the Burns Cemetery there. Would be interested in any publications related to these families, including cemetery listings. CLAY

Seeking any information on Poindexter (a.k.a. Dex, Dexter, and P.D.) CLAY, and any of his family who lived in Beford County in 1860. He is listed in the 1860 Tennessee Census as being 16 years old. His parents were William and Mary CLAY. His brothers were: William 14yrs., John 12 yrs., William 10 yrs., Samuel 8yrs, Joseph 7 yrs., and Spencer 4 yrs. I believe they came from Alabama, as that is where Poindexter was born, and went to live after the Civil War. He moved to Arkansas in 1881 where he raised a family and is buried.

Searching for Andrew Jackson (Jack) BLACKWELL of Bedford Co. married Margaret Catherine MUSE (HYDE) 16 Mar 1859 and divorced 8 Oct 1866. My grandfather, George Washington SHADDY, was born in Bedford County 9-28-1852. His parents are Henry SHADDY b. 1819 Tn. and Betsy/Elizabeth HART b. 1827 in Davidson Co., NC. The parents of Henry are Jacob & Christianna SHADDY. The parents of Betsy/Elizabeth are Henry HART & Barbara (Lambeth)HART. Henry & Betsy/Elizabeth SHADDY appear in the 1840 & 1850 Bedford Co. Census- Dist. #20. All HART family records refer to Betsy, all SHADDY family records refer to Elizabeth HART as the wife of Henry SHADDY. I would like to establish that Betsy/ Elizabeth refer to the same person. Any info concerning Shaddy and Hart families will be appreciated.

MOORE

John MOORE was born 5 Sep 1761 in Louisa Co., VA. He moved to Rowan Co., NC and fought in the Revolutionary War. He married Eleanor G. MARBREY in Rowan Co. They had 6 children: John A., Jr., (who married Nancy YELL), Tabitha Williams (who married Morgan SMITH), Green M. (who married Sarah COOPER) , Sarah D. (who married Isaac WEST), Frances (who married Abraham SHRIVER), and D.C. MOORE. They moved to Bedford Co., TN abt 1810. Most of the above are buried in Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Bedford Co. Am looking for information on James Mitchell Fuller who was supposedly born in Lincoln Co. abt 1833. He lived his later years in Bedford Co. and Franklin Co. He was married twice (to sisters).
