DOAK. Searching for information on these families. Pleasant
V. RHEA and Mary E. FANNIN(G) were married in Flat Creek,
Bedford County, TN November 24, 1845. They were listed as
residents of Flat Creek on the marriage certificate. Her
parents were Tom FANNIN(G) and Sally DOAK. Witnesses were
William FANNING and Andrew FANNING. The minister was Samuel
PEARSSON. Was Pleasant related to the RAY family of Bedford
County or the RHEA family of Lincoln County, TN? Was Sally
DOAK related to Hugh or Samuel DOAk of Bedford County? I
will be glad to share what I have on these families. |

C.E. Burns Tue Feb 17 12:28:49 1998 Seeking information
on (James?) GIBSON who married Hannah (BRITT?), widow of
William LONGMIRE. There were 5 LONGMIRE children, 2 GIBSON
children. William LONGMIRE died about Aug 1815, so GIBSON
marriage would have been later. Hannah died 1847 in at
Jackson (Madison co) Tenn and her death brought about
several lawsuits regarding property she owned in Bedford co.
May also have lived in Alabama. LONGMIREs probably from
Surry Co, NC |

TERRY & PROBY in Bedford Co TN . Robert Henry TERRY is
named in the will of a James M. PROBY, proven 1867, as his
"brother". Also listed as brothers were Keeble TERRY ( not
the Keeble m. to Sarah who dies 1837) and John TERRY with
son Daniel & dau. Dolly Ann ( not the John TERRY in
Carroll Co with son Daniel) Keeble is most likely Kibble
TERRY/Rebecca of Bedford Co in 1832, Marshall Co in 1850 and
Decatur Co in 1860. Is a James Kib TERRY who was in Civil
War one of his sons? ( Kibble has a grandson named James
Kibble TERRY II from one of his other sons in Decatur Co. )
. Robert & James were the exec's to the estate of Peter
R. PROBY in 1846. Looking for parents of these TERRYS. |

the Revolutionary War in Col Butlers Batallion of the
Seventh Orange Militia of North Carolina. We need
information about his wife and family, his ancestors, and if

buried in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Fairfield,

W.R. SISK, he married Minerva ALEXANDER. (Bedford co.?) One
of the children was Rebecca SISK born appx. 1857. He later
moved the family to Searcy and Baxter counties of Arkansas.

if you have information about Rev Hayman BAILEY, who was one
of the founders of the Protestant Methodist Church. A report
of a convention of "Reformed Methodist" societies held in
Unionville TN on 30 Aug 1828 says Hayman BAILEY is "of
Bedford County TN, originally from Maryland." Hayman BAILEY
had a daughter named Sarah, who was born in Tennessee in
1804. |

Edna; (4) Winnifred; (5)James Madison b 1817; and (6)Martin
S. Did Martin S. marry Eliza McKINLEY, daughter of William
and Mary BEATTY McKINLEY? Martin and wife had several
children: (1) Jesse Mercer b 1838 married Mary Matilda
HOPKINS, daughter of Eli Hugh and Mary MEEK HOPKINS; (2)
William H., lived in MS, Tippah Co. with aunt and uncle; (3)
Martin S., Jr., lived in Tippah Co., MS with aunt and
uncle), and (4) Mary ( lived in AL with aunt and uncle. If
you are searching for any of the folks mentioned, I have
lots. I need to confirm that Martin, Sr's wife was Eliza
